Majarucon
assumes Bago post

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Personnel Division of the Commission on Elections Manila has issued a memorandum ordering the reassignment of Bacolod election officer Mavil Majarucon to Bago City pending the resolution of the motion for reconsideration she has filed with the Commission.

Majarucon filed a motion for reconsideration with the COMELEC Manila on June 12, contesting her “premature reassignment.”

She had said earlier that she is just trying to invoke her right to due process and is not trying to hold on to her position in Bacolod.

Negros Occidental provincial election officer Jessie Suarez yesterday said Majarucon assumed as acting election officer of Bago yesterday, taking over the post of Marcelino Deduyo, who is the Bago election assistant.

He said the previous election officer of Bago was promoted to provincial election officer of Aklan.

Majarucon said most senior election assistant Agnes Padilla is presently the acting election officer of Bacolod since Ryan Castro, who was designated by COMELEC Manila to replace her, has not yet reported to his new assignment.*CGS
