| Man knifed dead A man was killed by four unidentified suspects who ganged up on him in Bacolod City at about 10 p.m. Sunday, the police said yesterday.
Eduard Navaja, 32, of Brgy. Menchaca, Calatrava town, Negros Occidental, succumbed to two stab wounds on his back.
Police Officer 2 Julibert Dalupines, investigator on case, said that Navaja had allegedly vexed the suspects while they were at the Alma 's Refreshment at the Libertad Market area before the incident.
Dalumpines also said that the suspects chased Navaja when he went out from the establishment and ganged up on him at Lopez Jaena Street . Navaja was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival, he added.
Stephen Aglipay, 22, of Silay City, Negros Occidental was also treated at CLMMRH with multiple stab wounds after unidentified suspects stabbed him at Lacson street at about 3 p.m. yesterday.
The investigators, however, are still identifying the motive of the stabbing.
Meanwhile, three teenagers were hurt when a rumble occurred at the gymnasium of Brgy. Granada in Bacolod , Sunday midnight, Dalumpines said.
Injured were Rendy Fernandez, 19, of Hacienda Elisa and Mark Anthony Gabriel, 17, of Purok 3, all in Brgy. Granada and Ryan Sumbe, 18, of Hacienda Bantog, Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod .
Fernandez sustained injuries on his buttocks, Gabriel on his neck and nose, and Sumbe on his forehead. The cause of the rumble is still being determined by the City Police's Investigation and Detective Management Section.*APN

6 apprehended for
marijuana use
Six persons were arrested during the All Saints Day celebration for the sale and use of marijuana cigarets outside the public cemetery in Brgy. Antipolo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
Nabbed by the combined team of the Negros Occidental police anti-narcotics unit and local policemen were Hadji Cordova, 29, Andy Emelo, 18, John Pit Estoril, 24, Neil Ian Pialda, 28, all of Barangay Antipolo, Pontevedra; Jansen Canieso, 21, of Barangay Robles, La Castellana; and Gerald Bayona, 26, of Barangay Pahanocoy in Bacolod City.
Recovered from them were 25 suspected marijuana cigaret, two pieces burnt marijuana joints, two P50 bills used as marked money, P3,488 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, three cellphones, and assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia.
Negros Occidental Board Member George Gitano and Kagawad Eriberto Untal witnessed the anti-drug operations, police said.
The arrest of the six suspects brought to 89 the number of drug personalities arrested and charged in court for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in Negros Occidental from January to Nov. 1.
Chief Insp. Rico Santotome, NOPPO anti-narcotics chief, said they are filing drug-related charges today against 16 drug personalities arrested in four separate anti-drug operations in Bacolod and Bago cities and towns of Murcia and Pontevedra.*GPB

3 persons held up Three persons reported to the police that they were held up at 27 th -Lacson Street, Bacolod City , at about 1 a.m., by three unidentified persons armed with kitchen knives while they were waiting for a jeepney, the police said yesterday.
Police identified the victims as Alfredo Kwan, 30, Purok Masagana, Brgy. Alijis, Ronell Malunes, 25, of Purok Alvarez, Brgy. Estefania and Martin Philip Mayuga, 26, of Purok Camansi, Brgy. Banago.
Kwan said the robbers took his wallet with P250 in cash, necklace valued at P1,500, silver bracelet worth P600, wrist watch valued at P580, ball cap valued at P250, and identification cards.
Malunes and Mayuga, meanwhile, said that while they were walking at Purok Lubi, Brgy. 3, three unidentified men approached them.
They said one of the robbers was armed with an icepick, when they was held up, and took three cellular phones valued at P7,500 and P1,500 in cash before fleeing.
The cases have been referred to the City Police's Investigation and Detective Management Section Crime against Property desk.*APN
