Suntown exhibit Sunday
Suntown will hold an art exhibit of the work of this year's camp participants at Maryshore (CICM) in Talisay City 10 a.m. Sunday.
The public is invited to the exhibit, Suntown Camp Foundation Inc. president Millie Kilayko said.
Thirty children with cancer and serious illnesses and children who have parents with cancer are participating in this year's camp where various art activities as a medium of expression are being held.
“Studies have shown that artistic processes restore a sense of identity and agency that hospitalization takes away. Some scientists believe that such feelings of control and mastery trigger an increase in the production of disease-fighting cells,” she said.*

Benefit concert set tonight
A benefit concert for victims of the fire that killed 17 persons and left some 80 families homeless in Brgy. 19, Bacolod City will be held at 7 tonight, at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Brgy. Mansilingan, a press release from the office of Sen. Francis Escudero, which supports the cause, said yesterday.
Popular singer Bamboo and his band will be the main act of the show, a part of “Bagong Pagbabago,” the nationwide concert series organized to boost relief operations of the recent typhoons that hit Metro Manila and Luzon .
Bamboo's band will have Vic Mercado Jr., son of Bacolod broadcaster Vic Mercado, as drummer, while performances from local bands such as GMT and 11 th Hour will also highlight the evening, the press release said.
The concerts are held in different parts of the country to collect relief goods and donations. It banks on the bayanihan spirit inherent in Filipinos.
Entrance is free, but those who want to watch are encouraged to bring relief items such as rice, canned goods, used clothing, sleeping mats, blankets, folding beds, or donate P1 or more for the fund drive, the press release added.*
