The public service hotline of the Department of Labor and Employment has been bestowed the prestigious Philippine Quill Award merit category, for offering a sustainable solution in the efforts to make immediately available to workers, information on local and overseas jobs, and other relevant updates and services, a DOLE press release said.
The service provides a quick response to local and overseas Filipino workers) in partnership with Globe Telecom.
DOLE Secretary Marianito Roque received the PQA merit plaque for the DOLE-Globe 3-Way Asenso Connect hotline service from Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu at the Globe's partners' night held in Makati City , recently, the press release said.
The PQA merit award is handed out by the International Association of Business Communicators, a leading association of business communication experts with approximately 16,000 members in more than 100 chapters in 70 countries worldwide.
Roque said the IABC has recognized the 3- Way Asenso Connect hotline service of the DOLE and Globe as it represents a high level of achievement in the area of communication management in public service.
The hotline service was launched on May 1.
It consists of three communication channels – the DOLE 2917 Hotline, 2910 SMS facility, and the www.dole2917.com.ph website - that workers can access for information on local and overseas vacancies and updates and services being provided by DOLE offices.
Questions and requests for information range from wages, work standards, labor relations, occupational health, holiday related issues and others, the press release said.
Workers may call the DOLE 2917 Hotline to reach DOLE, POEA or OWWA by dialing 2917 from their Globe or TM cellphones, or 908-2917 from their Globe landline phones.
All calls from Globe or TM cellphones and Globe Landlines are free of charge nationwide. The service is also open to non-Globe subscribers, who will be charged regular per-minute call rates.
Charges are also applied to caller coming from other networks, it also said.
Globe subscribers may also text "DOLE HELP" for local jobs and "POEA HELP" for overseas jobs to 2910.
They may also text the two agencies to 2910 for questions and comments.
Globe subscribers may also register their cell phone numbers in order to receive updates from DOLE on relevant news, job vacancies, holidays, and other updates on services, it added.
Workers may also view a comprehensive list of information regarding the DOLE 2917 service by going to www.dole2917.com.ph, the press release also said.*
