LTO-Bais seeking
deputation of cops
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

The Land Transportation Office in Bais City , Negros Oriental, has begun identifying police personnel and local government workers in its area of coverage for deputation to help in the enforcement of traffic laws.

LTO-Bais District Office head Janine Flores stressed the need for deputation of these individuals as her office lacks manpower.

At least three police personnel in each town or city can be recommended for deputation while local government employees who are also directly involved in traffic operations and related concerns in the locality can also qualify for deputation, LTO Region 7 director Raul Aguilos said.

These would include workers of the traffic management office or similar offices who are to be recommended by the local chief executive, Aguilos said.

Aguilos, in his recent visit to Bais City , told Lawas that applications for deputation are now being accepted following its approval by Department of Transportation and Communications Assistant Secretary Arturo Lomibao.

Deputation of police personnel in the enforcement of traffic laws had been earlier revoked by the same agency.

Lawas disclosed there are currently no deputized traffic agents in the LTO-Bais District's coverage area, which includes Canlaon City, Vallehermoso, Guihulngan, La Libertad, Jimalalud, Tayasan, Bindoy, Ayungon, Manjuyod, Bais City, Tanjay City, Mabinay and Pamplona.*JFP
