| This year marks a breakthrough in the field of aeronautics in the Visayas region as the Asian College of Aeronautics is now offering a flying course, a press release from the ACA Flying School said.
This is a pioneering venture for aspirants in obtaining a pilot's training program outside of Metro Manila.
Last June, president Jonathan Palma of the ACA and aviator Capt. Ferdinand Tan conceptualized the creation of ACAFS, with a firm belief to expand the horizon set about by the prospering aviation industry in the Philippines .
Alongside the existence of the ACA since 2003, starting out a flying school complements the institution's two other major areas of concentration, namely, aircraft maintenance technology and aircraft aviation technology, the press release said.
Tan is a 737 pilot with 18 years of flying experience in various airlines and flying school. He is an original member of the Philippine Air Force Class '90. He is joined in by flight instructor Capt. Andree Camlian, both of whom are mentors for ground and flight instructions.
The fleet of ACAFS include 152 CESSNA's, C – 172, Warrior, PA34 – 200 (Seneca) and Top Cirrus Simulator, the press release said.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has approved the program study implemented by ACAFS with the main objective of training students to be professionals and responsible aviators.
The training requirements are set by the International Civil Aviation Organization which allows the school to extend the curse to interested foreign students, the press release said.
Ground schooling and licensing are at ACAFS in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City , and the basic and course completion flights are at the Bacolod Silay International Airport , in Silay City , Negros Occidental.
Those who wish for more information may visit ACAFS at 3/F Teresa Building, Citisales, Lacson Street , Mandalagan Highway , Bacolod , or call Tel. Nos. (034) 709-153 or 441-2133, the press release added.*

Plaid collection
sets new trend
Plaid is the ultimate trend in Loalde's men's collection, a press release from the company said.
Constantly inspired by individual style, Loalde stitched up some checkered and plaid patterns with reversible shirt cuffs - a trend favorite and the look of its Fish 18 ensemble, that make plaid shirt collections all the rage this season.
The shirt material is lightweight and breathable, making it one of the most comfortable shirts. It is also heathered, lending this shirt a textured sharp style, the press release said.
The white pronounced seaming throughout gives it a kick of its own. Only Loalde Fish 18 style can accomplish all the softness and casual styling in an updated, more modern fit.
The plaid collection are available at Loalde branches at SM City and Robinson's Place in Bacolod City; Ayala Center and SM City Northwing in Cebu; Glorietta 3 Makati; The Annex SM City North Edsa; Annex 2 SM City Fairview; SM City and Robinson's Place in Iloilo; SM City and Gaisano Mall Davao; and LKK Center Cagayan de Oro, the press release added.*
