A resolution requesting Mayor Evelio Leonardia to authorize and direct the City Engineer's Office and the Public Safety and Emergency Services to inspect carnival rides operating in Bacolod City during the MassKara celebration was passed by the City Council Wednesday.
Authored by Councilors Roberto Rojas and Alex Paglumotan, the resolution said carnival rides must be checked for the safety of the general public.
It said this is intended as a precaution and prevention of untoward accidents.
The SP also passed a resolution authorizing the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office to implement a truck ban from corner national road in Alijis and Carlos Hilado for trucks coming from the south and Bangga Pepsi for trucks coming from the north and on the east starting at Mansilingan Church from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The resolution sponsored by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. said that since the milling season is ongoing, sugar truck haulers are busy transporting heavy loads of sugarcane going to the milling site and passing through major roads and highways even during peak hours of the day.
It said that due to the additional number of commuters going to the Bacolod City Government Center, new routes in the area have been established, primarily to accommodate and facilitate the needs of their constituents.*CGS
