The Bacolod City government will hold a Necrological Service for former Bacolod Mayor Amado “Remache” Parreño, at the Santuario de Bacolod in Brgy. Alijis, 3 p.m. today.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, through Memorandum No. 166, called on all city employees “to pay their respects to the late mayor who has rendered selfless contribution for the betterment of the city.”

Parreño was mayor of Bacolod from April 5, 1986 to December 1, 1987.

Leonardia, through Executive Order No. 20, ordered all flags to be flown at half-mast for Parreño.

A necrological service will also be held by Parreño's family at 7 p.m. at the Santuario de Bacolod. Interment will be on Wednesday at the Santuario de Bacolod Memorial Park following a 2:30 p.m. mass, Parreño's nephew Brgy. Capt. Jose Antonio Gensoli, of Vista Alegre, said.*
