Conciliation talks break down

The National Electrification Administration yesterday directed the parties to legal arguments among present and former officials of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative to submit position papers to support their cases.

Xerxes Adzuarra of NEA said that the parties have been instructed to give their written arguments and evidence after efforts at reconciliation broke down yesterday.

One of the cases discussed was the one filed by the CENECO Union of Rational Employees and the electric cooperative’s former president, Vicente Sabornay, against incumbent president, Edward Gasambelo, general manager Sulpicio Lagarde Jr. said.

The case stemmed from Sabornay’s alleged illegal ouster from CENECO earlier this year.

Gasambelo and Sabornay could not be reached for comment last night but Lagarde said he had information that the parties did not agree to reconciliation.

Lagarde also said that, in his own case against Sabornay and other persons who were behind his removal from CENECO in November last year, he is also not open to reconciliation.

He said he wants a court trial where he can submit documents and hear testimonies to prove his innocence and expose the abuses of his opponents.*PP
