The 7th edition of Monico Cup Masskara Golf Tournament opens tomorrow at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Open to all golfers of all ages, the 36-hole tournament will adopt the USGA/RPGA and local rules set by NOGCC and the Rotary Club of Bacolod South.

A project of the RCB-South for the benefit of Annual  Academic Excellence Contest, ROTAPLAST Medical Mission and the RCBS Foundation "Children's Health is Our Business, the golfing extravaganza calls for an entry fee of P2,000 per player.

The top three placers in each category will receive prizes and awards and the overall lowest net champion will take home the Congressman Monico O. Puentevella Cup.

Hole-in-one prizes await lucky participants in holes 3, 8, 13 and l6. Players who qualified for the tie in the hole-in-one on the same hole will divide the prize.  Prizes will still be available on the second day if not won on the first day.

Participants are categorized as Class A, B, C, Senior Division and Ladies Division who will play in 36 holes, Stableford System - Individual Play Open.

Allowed maximum handicap is 30 for players with certified handicap.  Players without certified handicap could participate with zero (0) handicap.  If a player has two or more NGAP handicap indexes officially certified by his Club, the lowest index will be used.

Tee off time will be from 5:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Players who are late for their starting time are not disqualified but get zero (0) points on the holes not played.  A latecomer will be allowed to join his flight on the next hole to be played.

The field will have a maximum of 200 players only.  Questions or clarification of rules will be handled by the Rules Committee, whose members will available during the entire tournament.

Rules Committee has the right to change any or the whole format prior to the start of the tournament and its decision final.

Awarding ceremony and fellowship dinner will be at NOGCC on Oct.  11 at 7 p.m.*
