| Laborer found dead
The body of a 57-year-old hacienda laborer in Silay City was found Thursday evening by his relatives at Lake Piit , Cumabat Dos in Barangay E Lopez, the police reported yesterday.
Victim Rolino Gonzales was believed to have been struck with a hard object by an unidentified assailant that caused his instantaneous death, Supt. Jerry Bartolome, Silay police chief, said.
Gonzales' cadaver was brought to Manapla Funeral parlor for autopsy after being discovered by his brother Juanito and nephews John Mark and Leo Gonzales, the report said.
Negros Occidental PNP provincial director, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, directed the Silay City PNP to look for witnesses to shed light on the incident and to identify the killers of Gonzales.*

2 Bacolod houses robbed
Two residences in Bacolod City were entered by robbers Thursday and several valuables were taken, the police said yesterday.
Ma. Cristy Gianan Aguilar, 45, of 9 th -Aguinaldo streets, Bacolod said that at about 3 a.m. they discovered that suspects had ransacked their house.
Aguilar said the suspects, who gained entrance by detaching three slats of their window jalousie, took a CD player valued at P2,000, a digital camera valued at P22,000, a pair earrings valued at P5,000 and a necklace valued at P7,000, four watches valued at P5,000, a ring valued at P3,000 and wallet with P800.
Gemeliano Servinas, 57, of Santo Niño Village , Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod also sought police help after a man also looted their house at about 4 p.m.
Servinas said the robber, who destroyed the padlock of their main door, choked and punched his 8-year-old granddaughter and covered her mouth. He took a cellular phone valued at P8,000 and P1,370 in cash kept in the pocket of Servinas' jacket hanged behind the door.
Meanwhile, robbers entered a construction site and a cellular site yesterday and on Thursday.
Rex Sumugat, 33, of Brgy. Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental said that a grinder, a driller, a Hirahi planner, a 20-meters cord, an extension cord and two welding handle were stolen from their construction site in Homebridge Subdivision, Brgy. 29, Bacolod at about 1 a.m.
David Zabay, 25, of Capitol Subdivision, Bacolod also said that a 10-meter grounding wire was stolen from the Sun Cellular site in Brgy. Estefania at about 8 a.m.*APN

Police nab houseboy
for ATM withdrawal
Murcia policemen arrested a houseboy allegedly for unauthorized withdrawals from the ATM account of a 44-year-old resident yesterday, the police reported.
Chief Insp. Simeon Gane, Murcia police chief, identified the suspect as Gerald Camillo, 18, of Purok Santol, Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia , Negros Occidental.
Gemma Besnar, of Arimas Street , Barangay Zone 2 in Murcia reported that her house helper stole P19,000 from her bank automated teller machine account Friday morning, the police said.
Police Officer 3 Regino Robles and Police Officer 3 Danilo Pastro nabbed Camillo with the help of the complainant and recovered P3,900, which was part of the unauthorized withdrawals he had made, the police report said.
Camillo yesterday was detained at Murcia police station pending the filing of charges against him.*
