A convention was held by the A Teacher partylist group with Rep. Mariano Piamonte as keynote speaker, at the Negros Occidental Teachers Federation in Bacolod City , recently, a press release from the group said.

It was participated in by public and private school teachers, principals, directors, supervisors, and personnel, among others, and organized by Dr. Exequiel Guanzon, NASSPHIL president and FAPE coordinator for Western Visayas .

Resolutions were reaffirmed at the convention naming their three party list nominees, and a council director for Region 6, the press release added.*

6 UNO-R grads pass CPA test

Six students from University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in Bacolod City passed the board examinations for certified public accountants given in Manila , Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao , Iloilo and Legazpi, recently, a UNO-R press release said.

The school posted a passing percentage of 46.15 percent with the national passing rate was 41.68 percent.

Five out the six passers from UNO-R belong to batch 2009. A total of 13 students from the school took the exams, with three candidates passing conditionally, the press release said.

The new UNO-Rian CPA's are Pamela Bermejo, May Crampatanta, Joanne Rose Dumdum, Maria Charo Razonable, Reena May Vidaurrazaga, and Grace Alcosaba, the press release added.*
