A glamorous induction

“Woman power” certainly reigned during the very successful 15 th Charter Anniversary and Induction of Officers/New Members of the Bacolod City Sampaguita Lions' Club, which was held recently at the Grand Ballroom of Sugarland Hotel.

It is a well-known fact that most of the officers and members of the club are formidable lady achievers who are known for their beauty, grace and expert organizational skills in their chosen fields of endeavor. Guests came in their most fashionable attires and party mood.

We were happy to share the table of good-looking Silay Vice Mayor Mark Golez who was with the members of the Silay Kansilayan Dance Troupe, who performed a much-applauded dance number, complete with fabulous costumes. Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous feast specially prepared for the occasion. The program that followed was well-prepared and fast-paced. It was obvious that the organizers made sure everything would proceed like clockwork and it did.

The guest speaker was district governor Manuel Jalandoni, MJF, who was very impressed with the performance of the club. After her induction, president Myrna gave an excellent speech with a quote from the late Mother Teresa, “Passion does not come from the head; it comes from the heart”.

We could see how Myrna's passion has galvanized the club, making her truly deserving of being awarded, “Most Outstanding President in the District”, and the Bacolod City Sampaguita Club, “Most Outstanding Club in the District”.

After the program, the fun-loving crowd joined the invitation to swing and sway to their hearts' content as they showed their dancing skills till they dropped!
