Sanyo Team gained the upper hand in men's division with Tiger Eye doing the same in the women's bracket of the ongoing Suppliers Open Trio Invitational Bowling Tournament at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City .
The Sanyo pinbusters managed by Joel Alilain drew the record breaking 1,079 pinfalls to overtake Bago City Bowlers Association anchored by Joe Ermeo, who fell to third after clipping only 959 balls in the third round.
Sharp I piloted by Rey “Spitfire” Bala-an maintained its second place with 3,020.
It was Abe Leong who converted the tournament's individual single and triple records with 171 and 401 pinfalls to put Sanyo on top.
He was supported by teammates Rey Gargar, Hernand Garciniego, Tikboy Empleo and Edgar Alagaban for Sanyo's record breaking fate. The current topnotcher is now leading the 15-team cast with 3,082 pinfalls in three outings.
Triple-C/ASSFBI of Pat “Electric” Mendoza , however, kept the highest team single with 401.
