The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office emerged on top of the Performance Evaluation Rating of Police Regional Office-6's 3 rd quarter evaluation, besting eight other police units in Western Visayas , including the Bacolod City Police Office.
The NOPPO, a constant topnotcher from first to second quarter evaluation rating this year, garnered 796.296 points with 980 as perfect score.
NOPPO director, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, said they were able to maintain their lead over other police units in the region because of the cooperation of the provincial policemen.
Felix said the help of the provincial government led by Gov. Isidro Zayco and the mayors of different towns and cities in Negros Occidental and the cooperation of the community played a big part in their victory.
NOPPO is followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 773.983, while Guimaras and Iloilo City Police offices with the total scores of 770.860 and 756.035 were on the 3rd and 4 th place, respectively.
BCPO, meanwhile, landed at 5 th place from being seventh last quarter with a score of 755.595.
Bacolod City Police officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, said they were able to climb on to 5 th place because of their prompt reporting and recording on crime incidents. He also said that most of the crime incidents in Bacolod have been neutralized.
“I am thankful for the support of the people and to the policemen who have worked hard to attain this,” Guara said.
He, however, stressed that policemen should not settle on the number 5 slot and instead aim for the top place by changing their negative attitudes towards work.
There is still a lot of hard work to do for them to reach the top, Guara said, but added that it is not impossible since BCPO used to be the number 1 police unit in the region.*APN
