Waste mgmt orientation
for boy, girl officials held

Bacolod City under Mayor Evelio Leonardia Wednesday conducted an orientation seminar on Waste Management to the Boy and Girl officials at MassKara Hall of the New Government Center .

Waste Management Committee head Councilor Greg Gasataya who was at the orientation said, “Let us start now preserving our environment, not tomorrow, not next week”.

“The easiest way to do it is just be responsible for our waste, making ourselves part of this program and then reach out to other students,” Gasataya said.

Girl Mayor Mika Tajima – student counterpart of Leonardia, asked what she can do to conserve and preserve the environment, said “It has been planned by our councilors that they will make a resolution regarding segregation to be implemented by each barangay and school. As the mayor for this one week, I would really approve, for I believe that segregation will help our city,” a City Hall press release said.

The orientation was coordinated by the Human Resource Management Service headed by Erman Aguirre, through HRMO IV Gilda Lluisma, who oriented the city's counterpart officials regarding the city's programs and advocacies on waste management, the press release added.

The orientation is part of the Boys and Girls Week spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Bacolod.*
