| Decomposing body found
The decomposing body of a jobless man was found at about 6 a.m. yesterday in a sugarcane plantation in Hacienda Molave, Brgy. Granada , Bacolod .
City Police Crime Against Person Investigator, Police Officer 3 Jose Roy Militante, identified the victim as Edison Buhat, 28, of Zone 1 Abada-Escay Relocation site, Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod .
Militante said residents nearby, who were complaining of foul odor coming from the sugarcane plantation, scoured the area and found Buhat lying on his back.
Militante also said that, based on their investigation, the victim left his home at about 5 p.m. Monday and was last seen by a 16-year-old boy having drinks in the barangay with two men he refused to name.
City Medico Legal Officer, Dr. Ely Cong, meanwhile, told the DAILY STAR that he was not able to conduct an autopsy on the victim's body since it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Cong, however, said that, based on the description of the condition of the victim's body given to him by the management of the Holy Angels funeral home, it is possible that he had been dead for three days.
The City Police Investigation and Detective Management Section is still probing the case to determine the motive for the crime.*APN

Pangue hits back
at detractors3 Bacolod City Traffic Management Unit chief Senior Insp. Levy Pangue yesterday hit back at his detractors claiming that the traffic situation in Bacolod got worse when he reassumed office.
Pangue, who has served the TMU for three years from the time of former Police Directors (ret) Senior Supt. Pedro Merced and Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar was removed from his post in May this year and was reinstated by City Police Officer in charge, Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, on August 19.
Pangue stressed that he and his men are exerting efforts to ease the traffic situation in Bacolod by mapping out traffic plans, which includes the implementation of the “one-way system” at the roads in front of the University of St. La Salle and St. Scholastica's Academy.
He also said they have plans of putting railings and installing additional traffic signages especially in the Mandalagan area and additional deployment of traffic enforcers in congested streets.
Since the time he assumed office, Pangue said he made sure that the traffic will not swell, specifically in the north of Bacolod and at the SM City area.
City Police Officer in Charge Senior Supt. Celistino Guara also denied that the traffic situation in Bacolod has worsened when Pangue was reinstalled as the head of TMU.
He said traffic is a perennial problem especially in Bacolod , where the number of vehicles has increased and this can be resolved if drivers will observe discipline.*APN
