in royal splendor

LONDON  – Prince William married Kate Middleton in regal splendor at Westminster Abbey yesterday as huge crowds and a global TV audience watched Britain's monarchy pin its hopes on a new generation.

In the biggest royal celebration for three decades, Kate, wearing an ivory and white satin wedding dress with long lace sleeves, a veil and a flowing train, exchanged vows with William, who wore a scarlet military tunic.

Also at the Westminster Abbey  was Bacoleña Araceli “Lillie” Piccio,  who was nanny of princes William and Harry when they were small. moremoremore

Gutierrez resignation
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ. 5th District) said the resignation of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez yesterday will help keep the nation together instead of having to go through a divisive impeachment hearing.

“I am for Merceditas, but if she decided to resign then it is for the better because it will keep the nation united,” Arroyo, who is in the United States, said.

Arroyo had voted against the impeachment of Gutierrez, while the six other congressmen of Negros Occidental who are members of the Nationalist People’s Coalition voted for her impeachment.moremoremore
