Escalante, EVFC triumph
in Udyakan football fest

Escalante Football Club beat host City of Kabankalan in the championship round, while EVFC Ladies prevailed against La Salle Team A to lead the cast of winners in the CKFC Udyakan 7-A-Side Football Festival in Kabankalan City over the weekend.

Topping the elimination round with convincing victories against their opponents, Escalante FC turned back their host to win the title in Men’s Open division, while EVFC reigned in the ladies’ category against six other teams to capture the crown.

Himamaylan City settled for second runner-up honors in the men’s department, while La Salle Team B completed the top three teams in the ladies bracket.

In the 10-Under division, Bago City FC (A) beat Minuluan Talisay in the final match to win the championship, while Bago City FC (C) grabbed the seond runner-up prize

Minuluan Talisay avenged their loss against Bago City by dominating the titular showdown in the 14-Under event, as the Sagasa Football Team of Ben De la Rosa landed in third place.

Himamaylan City FC topped the Under-17 contest by taming Escalante City in their battle for the championship, while Cadiz City FC salvaged the second runner-up honors.

Organized by the City of Kabankalan Footblal Club, in partnership with Kabankalan City Cultural and Tourism Foundation, Inc. and the City Government of Kabankalan, the two-day football festival drew participation from different football clubs in the province.

Joining the 10-Under, 14-Under, and 17-Under categories were Bago FC, Bata Elementary School, Cadiz FC, FC de Pontevedra, Escalante FC, Rizal Elementary School, Himamaylan FC, EVFC, Domingo Lacson National High School, FBC (Miranda), Sagasa FC, Kabankalan Catholic College, Talisay FC, Poblacion National High School, and host City of Kabankalan FC.

In the ladies’ group, the participating teams were: University of St. La Salle Teams A and B, La Carlota FC, City of Kabankalan, Sagay FC, Escalante FC, and EVFC.

The teams in the men’s category were: Himamaylan, City of Kabankalan, DLNHS, Isabela FC, Amlan FC, Dona Juliana FC, Bago FC, La Resistance FC, Antipolo FC, Cadiz FC, La Castellana, La Carlota, FC de Pontevedra, Jackals Team, and Magallon FC.

Match commissioner was Warren Concepcion with Augustine Rey Rivas, CKFC president as coordinator.*NAB
