AACI Trading bounced back from an opening day setback to nip the Huminova Tigers, 80-78, while Organic Solutions defeated JSY Countertrade, 80-68, in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade  2nd Conference Intercolor Basketball Tournament at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

The Tigers, who fell behind as early as the first quarter, battled back and was able to tie the game with less than a minute in the fourth quarter but AACI Trading had the last say when  Mark Binguan canned two free throws  with 18 seconds left to seal the victory.

Binguan made five triples to pace AACI Trading with 19  points, Ralph Ong  added 14, Chingsan Su shot  three treys,  Jolly Castillo made 8 points and Omar Galunan with 7 points.

Top Pick Peter Paul Ortaliz scored 23 points in a losing effort, Jomie Montinola contributed 16 points, Ricky Chua and RB Chua picked up 9 points each.

Meanwhile, Teruel scored 11 points in the first quarter to give Organic solutions a 27-12 lead. But Bong Palo’s nine points cut the deficit  to 36-26 at the break.

Organic restored order in the third quarter with a balanced offensive for a 60-44 lead as the trio of Rey Pandoro, Devin Villacruz and Monroe Chua conspired for 21 points.

Teruel led Organic with 20 points, backstopped by Pandoro’s 17 points, Villacruz 11, Daniel Chiu 9, Bobby Yap 8 and Monroe Chua 6 points.

Palo delivered a game-high 24 points, Robbie Jalando-on made  15 points, and Wilson Dy shot 8 points.

In the opening day encounter, AACI Transport scored an emphatic victory over AACI Trading, 111-86,  as Kenderson Hao dropped 33 points and Jan Jan Young added 18 points,  even as  Victor Go  picked up  22 points and Binguan shot 20 points and Omar Galunan had 17 points, in a losing effort.

In the second game, Oliver Manaloto finished with 29 points, Pao Pao Lim scored 22 points, and Michael Ang had 18 points as AACI Farms  tripped  JSY Transport, 119-106.   Arvin Gustilo scored 28 points, Dr. Emil Guanzon 27 points, and Dan Gustilo 22 points for Farms.

Nine teams are joining the tournament which is exclusive to Fil-Sino members only. Each team has 14 players and the top six teams advance to the quarterfinals after a single robin elimination.*with report from Stephen Tan
