Sharp Aquos bagged the grand championship trophy, as Mulo Car Aircon/ASSFBI and Tiger Eye won the title in their respective division of the 15th Sharp Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament that ended at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.
The Irne “Pretty Boy” Diaz Sharp powerhouse composed of Edgar De Leon, Rey “Spitfire” Bala-an, Ricky Zamora and Gilbert “Nonoy” Hulguin beat Bracket B champion, Mulo Car Aircon Services in the battle of undefeated, 368-305 to bring home the top prize in the men’s category.
Romulo “D’Gunner” Ramos, Orly Guiljon and Ulysses Pacheco played for MCA.
DeLeon carried the scoring cudgels for Aqous with 134 pinfalls, while Zamora and Bala-an contributed 121 and 103, apiece.
Ramos top scored for the losing aircon specialist with 105.
Before clinching the grand prize, Sharp disposed Edgar Allan Del Rosario’s led NOCE – Needs Asphalt Makers in bracket A finals, 369-322 to arrange a face to face confrontation with bracket B winner Mulo Car Aircon Team.
For their part, the aircon specialist disbanded Kami Mga Hubin I of Robbie Elegado in the bracket B championship, 344-338.
Blue Diamond Sharp and Silverado Amor II of Cecil Ramon Silverio settled for second runners-up, while Davies II of Edgar Jerez and Easyweld/TNT Construction of Nonoy Ruiz were third.
It was NPBC RJ Stars bowlers of Steve Po who emerged as winner in bracket C finals winning over Silverado I, 338-319.
The members of the winning squad were Willy Mahilum, Abe Leong, Hernand Garciniego, and Rey Gargar, while Norman Pineda, Nonoy Gatila and Ronald Fernandez for Silverado.
Bago City Bowlers Association and ESD Electronz I were second and third runners-up.
In the women’s department, Tiger Eye I outclassed Davies Fusion I, 348-308, for the coveted title and the top purse.
Cecile Biendo, Stella Ongsingco and Carmen Romales represented the champion Tigers, while Susan Robles, Tess Robles and Nellie Rendon played for the paint masters.
Romales and Biendo sparked 137 and 111 for TEI.
Condura ASSFBI Ladies and Davies Fusion II were second and third, respectively.
Consolation prize winners were Candles/Alimon Steel and FRM Marketing in the men’s bracket and Panasonic On-BACIBA in the distaff side.
Meanwhile, the Suppliers Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Tournament follows on August 12 at the same venue.*HLG
