The Department of Energy announced that it is allocating P2 billion annually until 2017 for rural electrification during the recently conducted Energy Sector Information and Education Campaign.
Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras presented at the IEC the situation and developments in the Philippine energy sector which include updates on the energy resource development, downstream oil, renewable energy and power sector.
During the open forum, stakeholders aired their concerns over the disbursement of their applied projects under ER 1-94.


Farmers receive
crop insurance
Seven small farmers in Negros Occidental have received their claims from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation-6 through the Negros First Universal Crop Insurance Program of Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr.
PCIC insurance underwriter Jose Ma. Torres, Jr. said they have a total of P30,231 to seven farmers whose farms were damaged due to rice black bug, heavy rains, and flood.
Torres identified the beneficiaries as Margie Santisten of Brgy. Cabacungan, La Castellana town (P5,788), Flaviano Amoguis of Brgy. 6, Moises Padilla town (P5,228), Sonia Grava of Calubang, Ilog town (P3,274), and Adeliada Maban (P6,999), Novie Aguilos (P964), Jocelyn Luciano (P964), Merlita Maban (P7,014), all of Inayawan, Cauayan town.

ETON Properties Philippines Inc. presented four of its residential and office projects in Makati and Manila to brokers and prospective clients in Bacolod City at Bar 21 Saturday.
The projects were ETON Tower and First Homes in Makati City and 8 Adriatico and Archers Place in Manila.
A representative of Brokers Network said residential studios in Makati are high-rise and vary from one to three bedroom units. First Homes is a 34-storey condominium and each unit is fully furnished while ETON Tower is a 41-storey building and suitable for residential studios.
