Two unidentified motorcycle-riding male suspects held up Monday an internet patron who was on her way home in Purok II, Batinguel, Dumaguete City.
The victim identified as Gesele Torres, 21, single, of Purok II, Batinguel describe both suspects to be in their late 20’s and the driver about 5 feet inches 4 tall, chubby, of light complexion and on a black RUSI brand motorcycle without headlights that was their getaway vehicle.
The backrider was about 5 feet 6 inches tall, with dark complexion, slim, and had a gun, she added.
She told the police investigator that she was on her way home from the internet café, when a motorcycle passed her and stopped a few meters away.
She said the backrider alighted and approached her, pointed the gun at her, got her cellphone, and immediately fled.
Meanwhile, several snatching incidents were reported over the weekend at the Dumaguete police station with almost identical suspects involved.
One of the victims said she was riding a bicycle and another on a motorcycle when the suspects grabbed or snatched their bags.
Luwinda Aranas, 30, single, of Candau-ay, in Dumaguete said she was riding her motorcycle when her bag was snatched by motorcycle-riding suspects.
She reported the loss of her black bag, cellphone worth P8,000, another cellphone slide up, Apple Shuffle IPOD with charger and cash of P5,000, motorcycle registration documents, credit card, government identification cards and pawnshop receipt.
Maria Elcon Cabasag, 25, single, of Fatima Village, Bantayan, said she was on her bicycle when she was victimized by a snatcher. When she was on her way home and near her house, she saw the backrider of a motorcycle alight and walk behind her, snatched her bag and sped away.
Her bag held three cellphones, 2 Nokia C3 and 1100 and Sony Erickson K-800 cellphones, black wallet, ipod, itouch, Apple brand, Nikon camera, headphone Pioneer, notebooks, makeup kit, two cellphone chargers, ipod charger, SSS ID and Silliman faculty ID, two ATM cards, P1,500 in cash and USD $4.
The suspects were still at large as of press time yesterday.*RG
