Festivities in Murcia

LA VIDA NEGRENSE

Murcia town, led by Mayor Andrew Montelibano and Vice Mayor Gerry Rojas, recently celebrated its 151st Jubilee and 14th Tinabu-ay Festival 2011.

Fun-filled activities were prepared for the people and their distinguished guests. The festival sponsors got to mingle and talk with the Lin-ay talents during the "Lin-ay Sponsor's Night."  The mayor and the vice mayor, with the city councilors, welcomed all their sponsors who attended their thanksgiving dinner, among them boxing WBO Light Flyweight   World Champion Donnie Nietes, a native of Murcia.

Ten lovely candidates competed for the crown. They were Chinky Cantere, Rachelle Marie Evangelista, Rhea Jane Almaiz, Candy Ann Gumayan, Kathleen Matillano, Marie Anne Leslie Garzon, Maru Macalipsay  , Doanne Stephanie Peraren, Shallie Mar Derla and   Ma. Dolores Alfafara

The following night was a much awaited Pageant Night where Chinky Cantere, student of John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation taking up HRM, was crowned as the new Lin-ay sang Murcia 2011.

Congratulations to Murcia and the winners!* \
