Host Bacolod Golf and Country Club Ladies Team emerged as champion in the team competition, as Sonnie Montelibano of the winning club ruled the senior’s category in 48th Southern Ladies Golf Tournament at the BGCC course in Binitin, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Considered one of the most prestigious golf spectacles in the country, the event was joined by the top names in women golf circuit including members of the Philippine Ladies squad.

The BGCC champion team composed of Cara Golez, Grace Bañas, Sonnie Montelibano and Jane Park collected a total of 242 points to bring home the crown of the three-day tilt.

The Stella Friend’s BGCC group had a 13-point advantage over first runner-up Delmonte Club led by Leni Cabili who posted 229.

Dottie Ardina, Chihiro Ikeda, Andie Unson and Jayvee Agojo of the Philippine Ladies Team settled for second runner-up with 226 pts.

Montelibano won the championship in the 55 years old and above by a count back over Leni Cabili of Delmonte Team – Manila. They both garnered an identical 83 points.

The other winners were Sol Antonio of Villamor Air Base Club, who bagged the title in the Class D category (29-36); Lenin Cabili of Aguinaldo in Class C (24-28); Lilibeth De Villa of Tagaytay in Class B (19-23); Arianne Salvador, Valley Club in Class A (10-18); Jayvie Agojo (NTP) in championship division.

Chihiro Ikeda of the Philippine Team won the overall championship with 167 points.*HLG
