6-year dev’t plan
outlined for WV

Western Visayas has a finalized its blue print for socio-economic development in the next six years with the adoption of the Medium Term Regional Development Plan covering 2011-2016 by the Regional Development Council recently, a government press release said.

The MTRDP coincides with the development agenda of President Benigno Aquino III as contained in his “Social Contract with the Filipino people” targets under the Millennium Development Goals, the press release said.

The plan projects an increased gross regional domestic product at an average rate of 6.2 percent per annum for Region 6.

applications set

The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Occidental is calling all candidates and nomineesfor chairmanship of the Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee to submit their applications not later than March 9, Ronald Gareza, chief of the Agrarian Reform Program said yesterday.

The applicant must be a resident of the province, at least 21 years old with good moral character and sound mind, must not be a government employee or an elective official, and must be an active supporter of CARP, Gareza said.

Bacolod deploys
more workers abroad

The Bacolod City Public Employment Service Office deployed 639 overseas workers and 176 local workers in January, its monitoring report showed yesterday.

PESO manager Moises de la Cruz said the overseas workers were hired through GBMLT Manpower Services, Anchor International Manpower Services Inc., Blazing Star International Manpower Services, Lead Resources Management, and CSV International.

They are working in Middle East countries like Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, and Singapore, as service crews, domestic helpers, pipe fitters, carpenters, waiters and waitresses, nurses, lady porters, welders, electricians, and mall workers, De la Cruz said.
