The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos School of Law Barrister’s Club Alumni Association will hold a Retro Night and Fellowship Dinner 7 p.m. Friday at the Natalia Hall, O Hotel, in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.
Members will come in their best 50’s, 60’s and 70’s attire for the Retro Presentation Contest dubbed “Down Memory Lane,” followed by a sing-along competition with barristers singing favorites of yesteryears.
Highlight of the night are messages from invited speakers, lawyers Ivan Nemenzo – Negros Occidental chapter president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Leon Moya, Ben Ortega, Raymundo Pandan Jr., and Filomeno Tan Jr., the press release said.
The election of club officers for years 2011-2013 will follow, the press release added.*

Group art exhibit ongoing
"Pitik Mingaw," a Hiligaynon expression pertaining to matters of the heart, is the title of the ongoing Valentine group art exhibition by the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros that now includes entries from Iloilo City, a press release from organizers said.
About 30 artworks depicting unrequited love are currently showing at the gallery of the Department of Foreign Affairs, East Block, Bacolod City, and will run until March 3.

Jazz festival set Saturday
An evening of world class performances from local, national and even international artists will unfold at the 2nd Bacolod Jazz Festival 2011 on 6 p.m. Saturday at the L’Fisher Chalet Roofdeck, in Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.
This year’s festival is headlined by keyboardist Boy Katindig, a pioneer of Filipino contemporary jazz, who is now based in Los Angeles.
SinosiKat? and Mishka Adams, both from last year’s lineup returns, with Adams playing material from her latest album, “Stranger on the Shore.” Bacolod’s very own Nancy Brew, last year’s festival openers, will also perform.
LOGIC, a fusion quartet from Australia completes the line up with on the edge originals. Rounding up the entourage are guests Edgar Avenir, Mar Dizon, Ria Villena-Osorio, Wowee Posadas, Alvin Cornista, Otep Concepcion, Tots Tolentino and more, the press release said.
From a series of endeavors from the Jazz Society of Negrops the festival is linked directly with the Pljazz and Arts Festival. The Bacolod leg, together with Boracay, is one of the two venues outside Manila recognized as a center for the month long celebration, the press release said.

Valentine dinner held
Employees and staff of Island Living Channel in Bacolod City bonded during the day of hearts and were treated to a Valentine dinner by the management led by chairman and chief executive officer Radjie Caram Jr. at Melting Pot beside the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital in the city.
Attendees and guests received gifts given by their chairman, a press release from the management said.
