Booters of the Talisay Minulu-an Football Club emerged as the champions in the Men’s Open and Under-14 Girls division in the recently-concluded Mayor Doc Eric 7-A-Side Charter Day Football Festival at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College and Talisay City football pitches, respectively.
Host-TMFC Team-A won over TMFC Team-A Team-B, 1-0, to bag the men’s Open division as the University of St. La Salle (USLS) Men’s Varsity-A settled for second runner-up.
Other participating teams in the division were the Kabankalan City FC-A, Cadiz City FC-A, Escalante City FC, Las Buenas FC, La Castellana FC-A, Domingo Lacson National High School Alumni, Panaad-A, CHMSC-Talisay United, Barangay 16 Bacolod-A and the Pahanocoy FC for Bracket A while Bracket B include the USLS Men’s Varsity-B, Bacolod United FC, La Castellana FC-B, Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUPV), La Carlota City FC, Bago City FC, Sagay City FC, Victorias City FC, Himamaylan City FC, Athletico Bacolod and the Korean Community FC.
Meanwhile, in the Under-14 Girls, the host squad also took the division title after defeating Rizal Elementary School-A of Bacolod City, 2-1 via a penalty shootout during the finals, while Executive Village Football Club finished second runner-up.
Other teams that saw action in the age-group division were the Inocencio V. Ferrer School of Fisheries-Talisay City, Escalante City FC and the squads from Bacolod City that include the Bata Elementary School-A, Bata Elementary School-B, Rizal Elementary School-B, Domingo Lacson High School, St. Benilde School, Corazon L. Montelibano Elementary School-A and Corazon Montelibano Elementary School-B.
In the Under -15 Boys, the visiting Anthonies FC of Dumaguete City beat West Negros University, 2-1, via a penalty shootout as DLNHS ended second runner-up.
Also competing in this age-group were the teams from the Colegio San Nicholas Tolentino-Recoletos, Bago City FC, La Carlota City FC Teams A and B, Escalante City FC Teams A and B, AFC of Dumaguete City, DLNHS, CHMSC-Talisay, Negros Occidental High School Stallion and Barangay Concepcion-Talisay FC.
On the other hand, Victorias City-Azukals triumphed over Himamaylan City FC, 2-1, to bag the Under-18 division as Escalante City FC settled second runner-up.
In the Under-13 Boys, La Carlota City FC emerged champion after defeating host-TMFC, 2-0 while, Andres Bonifacio Elementary School of Bacolod City finished second runner-up.
Highlighting the event was the Women’s Open division with EVFC-A winning over USLS Varsity-A on a penalty shootout, 1-0. Meanwhile, AFC of Dumaguete took the second runner-up honor.
Teams that competed were the USLS Varsity-B, Celta de Victorias FC, DLNHS, Kabankalan City FC, Garden Ville FC, Real Negrense FC, USLS Nursing, La Carlota City FC and AFC of Dumaguete City.
