Robbers maul Frenchman
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Three men mauled a French national after robbing him of his cash at his residence at a subdivision in Brgy. Singcang Airport,  Bacolod City, early morning yesterday.

Station 8 commander, Chief Insp. Danilo Francisco, yesterday identified the victim as Roger Celestine Kamalasekaran, 66, of St. Mecaila Village, Brgy. Singcang Airport.

Kamalasekaran was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, where he is still confined, Francisco said.

Francisco told the DAILY STAR that the Frenchman just arrived and was about to enter his house when the suspects attacked him at the garage. They then mauled him when he fought back and when he was already lying on the pavement, they took P4,500 from his pocket and fled.

Kamalasekaran’s common-law wife, Grace Bonalos, 18, told the police that she was awakened by the noise in their garage and when she checked, she saw the Frenchman lying on the ground while and suspects was escaping.

Initial investigation conducted by Police Officer 1 Robert Gaurana showed that the suspects were able to enter the Frenchman’s house because he failed to lock the main gate.

Francisco said they are still trying to establish  the identities of the suspects because the victim and his wife could hardly describe them.*APN
