E-commerce seminar slated

The Department of Trade and Industry Negros Occidental will conduct an Introduction to Microsoft Office seminar tomorrow and Thursday for 25 small and medium enterprises at the Lasaltech, 3rd floor Lopue’s East in Bacolod City.

Engiemar Tupas, DTI acting chief of the business development division, said yesterday that the free seminar will prepare SMEs for virtual marketing and electronic commerce. This sector needs to learn the basics of MS office so they can make transactions faster and easier using the internet, he added.

The training will focus on MS Word, MS Excel, and Powerpoint. They will also be trained on how to use the software, particularly in letter preparations, table constructions, and other formats that are usually used in business, Tupas also said.

E-commerce will allow them to sell, buy, and accept orders. They do not need to have physical facilities because manual tasks become easier when done online, he added.

Twenty-five participants from the manufacturing and processing sectors are expected to attend the training. Interested participants may call DTI office at 433-0250/434-7920 for reservation.*LTG
