Remains of Perdices
lie in state at Capitol

The remains of the late  Negros Oriental Gov. Agustin Perdices arrived at 3:05 p.m. yesterday on board a Philippine Airlines flight and was accorded planeside honors at the Dumaguete City Airport.

The governor’s body was met by the Philippine National Police, military, government officials, employees and the Perdices family.

From the airport, the hearse went to St. Paul University Dumaguete. He was an alumnus of SPUD.

Tomorrow, the body will be moved from the Capitol to the City Hall, slowly passing by the late governor's house at San Jose Street, and then to the Perdices ancestral house at Rizal Boulevard, before proceeding to the City Hall.

His casket will be placed in front of the City Hall.

Vigil services will continue until Monday night.

On Tuesday, his remains will be brought to the Dumaguete Cathedral for the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will then take place at the Dumaguete Memorial Park at noon of the same day.

He will be laid to rest near his wife, Ma. Eugenia Araneta Perdices.

The late governor's family has announced that if there are cash donations, these will be given to the Great Physician Rehabilitation Foundation Inc. (GPRehab), and the feeding programs of the Dumaguete Cathedral Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital.*RG
