CFC holds New Year party
for inmates at provincial jail

Couples for Christ sponsored a New Year party for inmates detained at the Negros Occidental Provincial Jail along Gatuslao Street in Bacolod City, yesterday, a Capitol press release said.

The activity started with a mass officiated by Fr. Farley Santillan of Alangilan Parish Church, who gave them the message of hope for the year 2011. 

The CFC, who are also members of the Volunteer in Prison Service, spearheaded the gift-giving activity to the inmates, the press release said.

The inmates showed their gratitude to the visitors through group singing and dancing.

Provincial Jail Warden Dionisio Silva thanked the group for sponsoring the activity, saying it will serve as an inspiration for them to do well.

A mass is also celebrated every first Friday of the month at the provincial jail through the initiative of the CFC, the press release added.*
