PNP: Skeleton of
missing woman found

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The search for the missing sexagenarian woman ended Thursday, after her skeletal remains were found in a rice field in Sitio Patio, Brgy. 2, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Chief Inspector Samuel Mina, E.B. Magalona police chief, yesterday said Jeffrey Arroyo, a town resident, claimed that the skeletal remains were those of his mother, Erlinda, 66, who had been missing since May 10 last year.

Mina said Erlinda, who was suffering from Alzheimer ’s disease, was identified by her son, through her short pants that were also recovered from the site.

He, however, said he was puzzled by the absence of a foul odor that should have may emanated from the scene, if indeed she had died in the rice field, several meters away from a populated area.

The remains of Erlinda were buried at the town public cemetery yesterday.*GPB
