to join Sinulog de Cebu tomorrow
BY RENE GENOVE

Two champion festival contingents in Negros Oriental will participate in the 2011 Sinulog de Cebu in Cebu tomorrow.

Bayawan City is fielding its Tawo-Tawo Festival to the Sinulog competitions, while Dumaguete City is entering its current Sandurot Festival champion, Senior Tourism Operations Officer Myla Mae Abellana said yesterday.

Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria and Mayor Rene Gaudiel will head the delegations from Dumaguete and Bayawan cities, respectively, with other local officials present to boost the morale of participants.

The Tawo-Tawo Festival choreographers are Arlan Entac and Eli Manlangit, who is also the contingent manager. Sandurot Festival choreographer is Edgar Abay, while Andrey Noel Tumulak is contingent manager.

Festivals of Negros Oriental have garnered various awards in the Cebu Sinulog over the years, affirming the eminence of the province in culture and the arts, Abellana said.*RG
