The Education Volunteer Service of Daegu University in South Korea sent 10 students and a staff member to conduct visits in the Busog, Lusog, Talino schools in Negros Occidental to share Korean culture and tradition which will end today, a press release from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City said.
The group led by Jae Wook Lee has conducted short workshops on Korean history, food, crafts, music, dance and latest trends to pupils of Asuncion Lizares Elementary School, Fr. Gratian Murray-Integrated School, FR Flores Elementary School, and Murcia Elementary School.
Aside from the BLT schools visit, the group also had an interaction with the youth of Binhi and Project YES, the press release said.
The Institute for Negros Development and the Center for External Relations facilitated the exposure trip of the Korean students, the press release added.*

One-man exhibition
opens at island plaza
A one-man show called “Collage Assemblage” by Perry Argel at Isla Palapala Restaurant at the Triangle Island Plaza, Bacolod City, opened yesterday and will run until February 16, a press release from organizers said.
Part of the exhibition is a number of large paintings and small sculptures, the press release said.
Argel is a visual artist and musician who was welcomed in the art communities of Australia, Japan, Germany and other European and Filipino art communities, including those in Baguio, the Mountain Province and Boracay, the press release also said.
A pioneer member of Pamilya Pintura, Argel’s view of the arts is in the shape of a movement, a way of life, a form of worship, whose message is that “life is our canvas,” the press release added.*
