Bacolod Tay Tung High School and University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos battle for the top spot in Bracket C of the NOPSSCEA aspirant basketball developmental league at West Negros University Gym.

Both teams have two wins in their credit, with the Tay Tung boys scoring victories against Tangub Christian Academy and Don Bosco Technical Institute.
The BTTHS Blue Dragons of coach Bobby Tee routed TCA, 62-33, and turned back DBTI, 60-56, while the Junior Rams of coach Gerom Aledron, spoiled Don Bosco's debut, 70-60, and tamed TCA, 66-41.
Winner in today’s game gets the top seat in Bracket C, with Trinity Christian School and La Consolacion College-Bacolod waiting at the sidelines to spoil the leaders’ win streak.
Also eyeing this year’s championship is defending champion St. John's Institute, which won over Bacolod Christian Center, 83-23, in their previous encounter, and West Negros University, which beat Maranatha Christian College, 88-45.
The Johnians will face the Wesnecans in the 8 a.m. match today.
Also favored to score another win is the Colegio San Nicolas Tolentino Recoletos (Talisay City), which will clash against Colegio San Agustin Bacolod at 9:45 a.m., followed by the game between TCA and TCS at 11:15 a.m.
The team from Talisay City prevailed over St. Benilde School, 64-29, in last week’s opener and got a bonus win after St. Joseph's School-La Salle forfeited its first game.
Christian Academy of Bacolod which dealt St. Benilde School a 64-55 trashing, collides with University of St. La Salle, 60-41 winner over CSA-Bacolod, at 1:30 p.m.
Tomorrow’s games feature the La Sallians against SJS-LS at 8 a.m. and BCCN against WNU at 9:45 a.m.
TCA and DBTI battle at 11:15 a.m., while the Johnians will test the strength of Mansilingan Christian Academy, which beat BCCN 67-59, at 1:30 p.m.
TCS will try to spoil the debut of LCC-Bacolod and Coach Rolly Buenaflor at 3 p.m.
The top two teams in each of the three brackets will advance to the quarterfinals starting Feb. 5, with the top two squads meeting in the crossover semifinals on February 13.
The winners dispute the championship while number 3 and number 4 teams play for third place in a single game on Feb. 19.
