face admin charges

Administrative charges have been recommended for a police chief and 14 of his men, in connection with the killing of Police Officer 2 Johnny Urbano in a cockpit in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, on November 28 last year.

Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, police provincial director, yesterday said he has re-affirmed the recommendation of the Task Group Escalante to file administrative charges against Chief Inspector Santiago Rapiz, Escalante police chief, and 14 other policemen for their alleged delay in responding to the killing of Urbano, and against others who did nothing, and fled from the scene.moremoremore

4 of 8 rebels
linked to slay known

Four of the eight New People’s Army assassins suspected to have participated in the brutal killing of Police Officer 2 Johnny Urbano last year in Escalante City, Negros Occidental, have already been identified, Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, police provincial director, yesterday said.

Guisihan said they were able to establish the identities of the four suspects, through the help of witnesses and the wife of the slain policeman, in coordination with the Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade.

The NPA Roselyn “Jean” Pelle Command-Northern Negros had claimed responsibility for the summary execution of Urbano, whom they linked to alleged illegal activities in northern Negros.moremoremore

P50 wage hike bid
to be filed soon

The labor sector is set to seek a P50 across-the-board wage increase in Western Visayas, Wennie Sancho, labor representative on the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Western Visayas, said yesterday.

Expected to file the petition is one of the affiliates of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines in Region 6, he said.

Yesterday the Negros Labor Coalition filed a manifestation for wage increase before the RTWPB, he said.moremoremore
