Displaying the skills honed in local table tennis tournament, former 4th District Table Tennis Sports Coordinator and Bacolod Christian College of Negros Chief Administrative Officer Johnard Baldonado ruled the Hardbat Championships U.S. Table Tennis 2010 held in Las Vegas Convention Center in December.
Baldonado, a 2009 finalist, beat Noel Huermann in the finals, 19-21, 21-15, 21-18, 21-13, after outplaying 2009 defending champion Carlos Ko in the semifinals, 21-16, 21-15, 21-19.
Huermann, is the son of German player Franz-Josef Hardbat Huermann, who won the title in 1977.
Joining the tournament were 299 players featuring three-time champion Trevor Runyan, who yielded to Huermann in the semifinals.*
