National Bureau of Investigation-Bacolod head, Jose Ermie Monsanto, yesterday urged the public to report fixers who collect fees to hasten the release of NBI clearances so action can be taken against them.
Complaints have been made of fixers collecting as much as P300 for the early release of clearances at the Bacolod NBI Office, and Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he will call the attention of Monsanto on the matter.
Monsanto said fixers are not tolerated by his office and if caught, action will be taken against them.
Meanwhile, he said the issuance of clearances has slowed down because on June 30 the NBI’s contract with Mega Co. that provides the computer software nationwide, ended.
A new bidding is set to be conducted, but meanwhile the issuance of clearances is being done manually, he added.*CPG
