The Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against architectural firm contractor, Angelo Bongco, before the Bacolod Regional Trial Court for the alleged sale of prohibited ecstasy pills, City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said yesterday.

De la Paz said the filing of the charges in court was recommended by inquest prosecutor Dennis Jarder, and approved by City Prosecutor Amando Abanado Thursday.

Bongco, 40, of Henrietta Village, Brgy. Singcang-Airport was apprehended in a buy-bust operation at about 7 p.m. on June 18 near the Las Palmas Village and Beach Club in the city.moremoremore

The family of an inmate who was killed at the Negros Occidental Provincial Jail in Bacolod City filed formal administrative complaints against Jail Warden Dionisio Silva and Jail Guard Nelson Mabus before Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday.

Marybeth Montales filed the complaints for the stabbing to death of her brother, Irish Enrile, 28, inside the NOPJ Monday night.

The governor said an investigation will be conducted on the complaints filed. moremoremore

Two killed in ambush

A sexagenarian and his son-in-law were waylaid and shot dead by still unidentified armed suspects Thursday night in Purok Kinabong 4, Brgy. Igmayaan, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

Inspector Barry Villalobos, Don Salvador Benedicto police chief, identified the victims as Marcelino Sa-inga, 67, and Pablo Pasion, 47. Both succumbed to gunshot wounds in the different parts of their bodies, he said.

Villalobos, however, said there was no witness to the killing, although residents had heard shots at about 7 p.m. Thursday. moremoremore
