apprehended in Silay
Two more suspected drug peddlers were arrested and locked up in jail, following their arrest recently in separate anti-narcotics operations in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental police records show.
Supt. Rosauro Francisco yesterday said the arrest of Leonardo Tupaz, alias Nene Agak, during a buy-bust operation at Loney 1 in Brgy. Mambulac, in Silay City, yielded three sachets of suspected shabu, P6,170 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of prohibited drug and P600 in marked money.
Tupaz, in an interview with ABS-CBN, debunked allegations that he is engaged in drug peddling activities.
A certain Timodien Tillo, alias Boyet, was also arrested by policemen at Antonio Luna Interior in the same barangay, for violation of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug, Act of 2002.
Francisco, who is the Silay police chief, said three more sachets of alleged shabu, P500 in marked money, and P634 in cash were also recovered from the possession of Tillo.
The arrest of Tupaz and Tillo brought to 27 the number of suspected drug pushers accounted for by the Silay police, since Francisco assumed the position as city police chief three months ago.
Police officers Rayjay Rebadomia, Ian Liboon and Walter Tabilon who are members of the Silay PNP Intelligence Section, led the arrest of arrested drug suspects, police records also showed.
Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, has commended Francisco and his men for a job well done, in the campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs in Silay City. * GPB

Mother of 3
collared in stake-out
A mother of three was apprehended by the Bacolod City Police Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Group at about 1:30 p.m. Monday during a stake-out operation in Brgy. Handumanan.
AIDSOG team leader Senior Insp. Joemarie Occeño yesterday identified the suspect as Racquel Young, 38, of Purok Datiles in Brgy, Handumanan, Bacolod.
Occeño said Young has been under surveillance for quite some time now, on information that she is involved in the illegal drug trade. He added that Young’s husband was also apprehended for illegal drug sale.
A small plastic sachet of suspected shabu and a weighing scale were recovered from Young during his arrest, police records showed.
Young, who tried to evade arrest, said the illegal drug was left to her by a certain “Linda”, and that, she is not into illegal drug sale contrary to what the police said.
Bacolod City Police Director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, said that Young is already the 17th illegal drug personality apprehended during his term.
De la Paz said Young will face charges for possession of illegal drugs.*APN

Policemen arrest
two with warrants
Two persons, one of them a minor, with arrest warrants were arrested by policemen of Bacolod City and Binalbagan town in Negros Occidental, Monday and yesterday.
Bacolod Police Station 1 commander, Chief Insp. Ulysses Ortiz yesterday said they arrested Michael Yasas, 25, of Purok Magtiayon in Brgy. 10, at about 11 p.m. Monday at his residence.
Ortiz said Yasas was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 40 Judge George Patriarca, who set his bail at P12,000.
Binalbagan police chief, Insp. Albert Sy, also reported the arrest of a 16-year-old, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, for robbery.
Sy said the teenager was apprehended by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Himamaylan City Regional Trial Court Branch 56 Judge Nilo Sarsaba, who set his bail at P180,000.*APN
