awaits Team Azkals

Even with the 2-1 loss against Kuwait , the Philippine Azkals' are getting ready for their next tournament, showing that brighter things lay ahead for the national men's football team.

The Azkals are scheduled to compete in Taiwan's Long Teng Cup in September where they will contest the title against Macau, Hongkong and host Chinese Taipei, reports from the wires said.

In October, the Philippines will host a four-nation tournament with Singapore , Malaysia and either Thailand of Vietnam, the report added.

Top 5 teams battle for crown
in Alumni Triangular bowlfest

The top five teams in three divisions will battle for the coveted crown of the 2011 NOHS/BCHS/BCNHS/DLNHS Alumni Triangular Bowling Fellowship Tournament tomorrow at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City .

Domingo Lacson National High School Batch '75 earned the twice-beat advantage in the premiere Class A department, while Bacolod City National High School Class '79 and BCHS ‘72/76 Combine have the same opportunity in category B and C, respectively.

Going up with DLNHS '75 in an up-the-ladder system are Negros Occidental High School '82, NOHS '85, NOHS '73 and BCHS '74.

PBaRS 3 rd leg starts
in Davao City today

The third leg of the MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament openst today in Davao City with a heavy schedule of matches featuring the leading and upcoming stars lined up at the Wheels ‘N More Badminton courts.

Top seed and back-to-back leg champion Antonino Gadi of Golden Shuttle Foundation takes on JLTC/Flypower's Lorenzo Leonardo, while second seed Paul Vivas of Phl/Victor tests JLTC/Flypower's Lorenzo Yason's mettle in the lower half of the draw in the Men's Open Singles division.
