Senator Franklin Drilon yesterday said he is optimistic that the Senate will pass his counterpart bill seeking the creation of a second congressional district for Bacolod City in time for the 2013 election.
“I support the redistricting, in fact I filed the companion measure in the Senate…I assume it has the support of the people of Bacolod ,” Drilon said.
The senator said his counterpart redistricting bill is now pending before the Senate's Local Government Committee chaired by Senator Ferdinand Marcos.
The Bacolod redistricting bill authored by Rep. Anthony Golez was approved in the House in December last year.
