Badminton clubs
score ‘cheating’

During PBaRS
2nd Leg in Bacolod City

Badminton clubs in Bacolod City support the complaint submitted by Melanie Sabino to the organizers of Philippine Badminton Ranking System against an overaged player fielded by the Whackers Badminton Academy during the 2nd Leg of the MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza in Bacolod City.

Jordan Sun of the Jaguars Badminton Academy, an umbrella group of badminton clubs in Negros Occidental, said they are aware of what happened during the 2nd leg of PBaRS in Bacolod and they support the complaint of Sabino, a parent of one of the Bacolod girls who played in the Under 15 division.

In her complaint, Sabino, said Diane Ocampo and her team, Manila-based Whackers Badminton Academy, should be suspended from badminton competitions for cheating during the tournament.

PHL U14 battles
Cambodia today

Members of the Philippine U14 Girl’s Football Team are looking forward to bounce back from last Saturday’s setbacks as they battle Cambodia booters today in the ongoing Asean Football Confederation Festival of Football played in Vietnam.

The nationals lost to Japan early Saturday morning, 2-0 followed by a 6-0 upset against China. In the afternoon, the Filipinas ended the day with another setback on a 1-0 loss against Thailand.

The three successive defeats of the Philippine team on weekend dropped their record to 1-4 win-loss card. They only booked a win over Chinese Taipei last Thursday, 1-0.
