Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said he is giving the police three days to arrest the former barangay captain who, on Sunday, killed four Kapitan Ramon, Silay, officials and injured three others.

The governor said he is giving the police until Friday after which a reward may be offered and the help of other law enforcement agencies, like the National Bureau of investigation, will be sought to augment the search for Noel Ayalin.

The governor said he will discuss the offer of a reward for the arrest of the suspect with Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, Negros Occidental police director.moremoremore

Silay SP declares
16 days of mourning

The Silay Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday afternoon passed a resolution declaring 16 days of mourning starting yesterday for the victims of the bloodbath in Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay City.

SK chair Imee Occeña, 16, and  barangay councilors Luzviminda Cotamen, 45, Freddie Juno, 58, and Pedrito Orocio, 52, died Sunday when former barangay captain Noel Ayalin shot them as they were about to start their council meeting.

Injured were Barangay Captain Ramon Celebre, and barangay councilors Salvacion Corugda, 42, and Lenny Leorca, 34.moremoremore

2 could face parricide
for ma’s death

Two Bacoleñas may face parricide charges after they allegedly manhandled their mother in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, yesterday, causing her untimely death.

The fatality was identified as Rosalia Prudente, 77, of Purok Lampirong Compound in Brgy. 2, by case investigator Police Officer 1 Robert Torreno.

Torreno said Prudente was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital by her son, Bernardo, at about 11:30 a.m. yesterday but she was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.moremoremore
