SIX NEGROS SOLONS VOTE YES

The House of Representatives voted early this morning   to impeach Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez by a vote of 212-46 after deliberations that lasted almost 8 hours.

Those who voted against the impeachment shortly past midnight included Rep. Ignacio Arroyo (Neg. Occ, 5th District), Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (Pampanga, 2nd District), Rep. Diosdado Macapagal (Camarines Sur, 2nd District) and Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo (PL-AGP).

Robbery eyed in slay of helpers

Robbery is now being eyed as the motive behind the brutal killing of two teenaged household helpers at Banyan-Pinyan streets of the Villa Angela Subdivision in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod Sunday, City Police Officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said yesterday.

De la Paz said at a case conference at the Bacolod City Police Office headquarters yesterday, he was informed by Station 4 chief, Senior Insp. Leilani Garcia that Aleph Esparagoza, the victims' employer, had reported that they discovered some of their properties missing.

Garcia said that among the items said to be stolen from the house of Esparagoza were three cellular phones, a digital camera, a DVD handy camera, a game boy, an I-pod and a .45 caliber pistol and its two magazines loaded with ammunition.moremoremore

Bago woman raped, killed, too

The body of a 42-year-old woman believed to have been molested, was found Sunday by her brother-in-law in Brgy. Bacong, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Police officer-in-charge, Insp. Clifford Batadhay, said the suspect, identified as Glen Antonio, 22, was arrested in a pursuit operation by the Bago police.

Initial investigations showed that the victim, identified as Maria Fe de la Cruz, sustained injuries in the head, believed inflicted with a hard object that caused her death.moremoremore
