The Department of Tourism in Region VII, in partnership with the provincial government of Negros Oriental, the city government of Dumaguete, and St. Paul University Dumaguete will conduct training for Negros Oriental tour guides May 9 to June 4.
Senior Tourism Operations Officer, Myla Mae Abellana, said the training venue was transferred to St. Paul University Audio-Visual Room, and will move to outdoor venues as the need arises.
Abellana said that before an applicant could be admitted for training, he or she will have to undergo an IQ examination to be conducted by the Guidance Services Office at SPUD on April 7-8; and a Qualifying Screening on April 14-15 at the Sidlakang Negros Village Conference Room will be held.
Interested applicants must be college graduates of any age, and along with the application forms, one 1x1 ID picture and proofs of academic achievements must be submitted, such as diploma, transcript of records, training certificates if applicable, Abellana said.
Application forms, now available at the Provincial Tourism Office and the Dumaguete City Tourism Office, must be accomplished and submitted to either office on or before March 31.*RG
