Ilog marks fiesta today

Ilog town in Negros Occidental will hold its annual patronal fiesta and Kisi-Kisi Festival today until Friday, a press release from organizers said.

Barangays participating in the Kisi-Kisi showdown are Vista Alegre, Galicia, Andulauan, I, Consuelo/Delicioso, Tabu, Manalad, Dancalan, II, Canlamay/Pinggot/Balicotoc, Calubang, and Bocana.

Also set are sports events, cockfighting activities, Concelebrated Mass, Sinulog re-enactment, band exhibition, employees night, and Talaba festival, among others, the press release added.*

IN SAGAY
PhilHealth, NOCHP
cards distributed

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation president and chief executive officer Dr. Rey Aquino led the distribution of Philhealth and Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program cards to beneficiaries in three barangays of Sagay City, Negros Occidental, Friday, a Capitol press release said.

A total of 680 NOCHP cards were distributed to the three barangays. These are Gen. Luna, Poblacion I and Poblacion II, and PhilHealth cards with 100 beneficiaries, of which 70 were sponsored by the provincial government.

Aquino also presented a check for P810,075 to Sagay City Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva representing the fourth quarter payment  from the total of P3,240,300 PhilHealth Capitation Fund for the enrolment made in 2010 tallying to 10,821 household enrollees, the press release said. 

The amount will be used to improve the services of the City Health Office of Sagay City, for the implementation of PhilHealth’s out-patient benefits.

The turnover was held in Balay Kauswagan where Aquino lauded the initiative of Marañon for the NOCHP. 

Also present in the activity were Rep. Thirdy Marañon (Neg. Occ., 1st District), PhilHealth regional vice president for Region VI Marilyn Geduspan, NOCHP program manager Roy Balicas, and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal, among others, the press release added.*
