Three security guards undergoing on the job training were arrested by station 1 policemen yesterday morning for allegedly carrying firearms without proper authority.

Station 1 commander chief, Insp. Luisito Acebuche, identified those arrested as Joshua Parcon, 22, Rudy Cabaluna, 31, and Rexon Ugdiman, 20, all of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Acebuche said that the team of Police Officer 2 Alfred Tumalaytay, Police Officers 1 Paul John Canuday, Edward Teodorico and Joel Talagtag were conducting a saturation drive at Locsin Street at about 1:45 a.m. when they saw the three who seemed to be under the influence of liquor.

He said the policemen saw Parcon with a shotgun, walking with Ugdiman and Cabaluna

When the policemen frisked Parcon, they recovered four ammunitions for a shotgun  while a homemade .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunitions were seized from Ugdiman.

The security guards, who are employed by the Jacoa Security Force Inc., presented a mission order and the policemen learned from it that they had not been issued any kind of firearms by their agency as they are still trainees, Acebuche said.

Even if the security guards have mission orders and pertinent documents, they are still not allowed to carry firearms when they are in civilian clothes and are not on duty, Acebuche said.

Charges for illegal possession of firearms may be filed against the three who are now detained at the lock-up cell of Police Station 1.*APN
