WBO Minimum Weight World Champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes took time out from his busy training schedule to hang out with ABS-CBN's primetime stars at the highly rated mid-day program “Showtime”, and the highest rated morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” of the television network ABS-CBN.
At the famous morning show, Nietes invited all the television viewers nationwide to support his April 9 bout where he headlines ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports' Pinoy Pride 5: Battle of Champions.
The snake man was interviewed by celebrity hosts Rico J. Puno, Donito Rose, Venus Raj, Plinky Webb and Alex Santos.
After the interview, Nietes was brought to the next studio where the mid day program Showtime is showcased.
Nietes joined the crowd and the cast of hosts headed by Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Karylle, and Kim Atienza, who did an interview with the Filipino ring hero.
Donnie did the famous routine sample where he showed his talent through shadow boxing in front of the cameras that got the approval of the judges and was awarded P10,000 in cash.
The television appearances over the past week is part of Nietes' campaign for his first fight now as a junior flyweight.
He will be mixing it up with Mexican Armando Vasquez and a win will automatically give him a shot at the junior flyweight belt.*
